QuantumNotes ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website quantumnotes.ca and the QuantumNotes Android app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use QuantumNotes:

• Email address — when you register for an account or subscribe to Pro
• Documents you upload — PDFs, Word files, Excel files, and images uploaded for processing. These are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.
• Usage data — number of documents processed per day, account tier (free or Pro), and subscription status
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Analytics data — page visits and usage patterns collected via Google Analytics 4 (anonymised)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the QuantumNotes service — processing your documents and returning AI-generated notes
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmation, subscription reminders)
• To enforce daily usage limits for free accounts
• To improve the service using anonymised usage analytics

3. Document Processing

Documents you upload are sent to Google Gemini AI and Groq AI for processing. They are used solely to generate your notes, summary, and flashcards. We do not store, share, or use your documents for any other purpose. Documents are not retained after your session ends.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — stores your email, account tier, and usage data securely
• Stripe — processes subscription payments. We never store card details.
• Google Gemini AI / Groq — AI models used to analyse your documents
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website traffic analytics
• Railway — cloud hosting provider for our application

5. Data Retention

Your account data (email, tier, usage counts) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us. Payment records are retained as required by Stripe and applicable tax laws.

6. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of analytics tracking using your browser settings

7. Children's Privacy

QuantumNotes is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
